BIRD NETTING ..MAY UPSET

just got back from a callout to redhill where they had this poor tiger that could have been
stuck here for days/ weeks..to anybody who uses birdnetting in their garden, please make sure that it can be checked regularly..my wife karen and i were a little upset by this
..as you would imagine
i rang the sanctuary and melb zoo to inquire about euthenasia, i heard a while ago that the freezing method is no longer endorsed as it it very painful for a reptile(imagine what a mammal must feel).they both told me that to sever the head or use a hammer..
ill use a hammer in future bacause a severed snake head can see smell and feel for a disturbingly long time..

yeh its pretty heart breaking souly but i have always say, if you want to work with and care for live animals,
,you will always have to work with dead animals, cliff the elephant seal also tested a lot of ppl

I had a similar experience with a red belly. The only consolation was that the woman who called me cried her eyes out and started to tear up the netting from her garden there and then. Fortunately my rescue survived.

Thats really awful Baz, your right, upsetting.

I've seen it with red bellies and browns, but without the massive injuries, just dehydration.

being the anthropomorphic animal lover that i am(,i cant help it, i am human), i used to have a few issues with euthanising animals but you learn to
switch off 'emotion' when you can see its for the best
its the worst birdnet rescue ive had
