Blood Mite problem

I have what i think are blood mites on my reptiles. i think it came in from a blue tounge i purchased mid last year and with the heat they bagan to multiply and spred through out my enclosures. i read that 'cod liver ointment' works but all i could find was cod liver oil. i used it and it seems to have wprked fairly well. But im not sure as yet weather there are stil some around. Does any one Know of what else i can do if they re-appear and one Beardie i have was knocked aroud fairly bad, is there something i can do for him besides feed him up good.
Thanks, Adam.
