They are not hybrids. I believe some of the American GTP morphs may be interagrades but the blue phase seem to be just a natural mutation.

I think they go through a Red or Yellow stage to a Blue phase to they're natural Green.

There are no GTP intergrades, that doesn't happen.

Some GTPs go blue during a hormonal cycle when they become gravid. Some of those snakes turn back to green others stay blue. I'm not sure if any of them ontogenetically turn blue.

They don't turn blue during the normal colour change as far as i am aware.

they are the same species, so at best you would call them a cross.

if they're the same species then you'd call them a green python!

wow, some top advice....haha. check out some of the american sites for some great info on GTP, also this topic has come up several time so youll find some good info in the search field.

waruikazi is correct some females will turn hormonally blue during breeding, some retain this blue and some go back to their usual green either completely or partially. the degree of blue in this case various between animals as some dont show any blue.
as for genetically blue, there are some lines being worked with in the states and europe etc to get some nice blue animals, these ones go from red to blue with no green stage, last i new there hasnt been a yellow to blue yet but it may happen sooner or later (if it hasnt already). in this genetically blue situation it is ontogenetic.
hope this helps and by no means am i a GTP expert!! you will find some good info on the net if your interested.
check out greg maxwells site for some pics of some genetically blue animals.
