i got my two blueys a week ago and for the first 3 days they fed pretty well on some fresh vegies and lamb mince but they both havent eaten since saturday...they are both still happy they still walk around the enclosure exploring and they will lick their food but wont eat it they also dont seem to drink a lot of water??? i was also wondering what the right heat for their enclosure is?
any help would be great!!! |

|  | Regular Member | | | | | Hey weezie. i have a pair of blueys and they dont eat every day either. I generally feed them every second or third day. Sometimes they eat it all, other days they'll leave half of what i put out or ignore it all together. Just depends on how hungry they are i guess. They generally dont drink a lot, except when they are coming up for shedding they go off their food and they drink more than usual.
There's a lot of advice out there on temps, depends where you are and where they've come from. They're pretty much bomb proof in the wild and can cope with a wide range of temps. I generally keep mine between 25 and 30 although i've let them cool off this winter so they're tank is at about 20-22 degrees i think.
I have a book 'keeping blue tongue lizards' that i got from the pet shop here for about $9, very good investment. I also got a lot of help from the bluetongueskinks.net website - do a google for it.
