Blue Tongue Watts

Gday

I currently have a 60W Globe (reflector) in a wooden malemine box with a glass front. THe temp doesn't seem to be getting up to the recommended 29 degrees for the 7 baby/Juvi blueys I have in there. Of course they are not eating cause its sitting around 20 degrees
What WATT would you all recommend for Blueys?

Appreciate your help

Andrew

RE: Blue Tongue Watts

you could try and add a heat mat to one side of the enclosure
or buy a 75 WATT globe

RE: Blue Tongue Watts

Ive got several of this years blueys in a plywood enclosure with an acrylic front and stainless mesh back(top half) theyre under a 40 watt red party globe and are feeding. They are in the shed in sydney. How far is the globe from the basking area.
Perhaps try getting a ceramic bulb, up the wattage as well.

RE: Blue Tongue Watts

Depends how high the globe is from the enclosure floor and how big the enclosure is. Try 75 or 100 watts. It would also be good if the floor was heated as blueys like having their bellies warm.
