Is there any real evidence to suggest feeding mealworms to bluetounges is bad(not including random speculation and old wives tales)?

Visit Facebook Profile
the nutrional "readings" i've seen on them aren't exactly impressive, i'm not really a subscriber to the whole eating out of the stomach thing but they are quite fatty and a high fat diet isn't good for anyone. IMO they're treats not a staple

When i feed mine crickets i put them in the freezer for a couple of minutes to slow them right down, as soon as the blueys see me put them in they gobble them right up...

I used to hand feed them but a bite from a bluey is'nt always that pleasant

Mine love little button mushroom chopped up as well

Why not corn

A mix of fruit, veg and mushrooms with a raw egg mixed in and occasional meat in the form of canned pet food or mince works well. Insects (moths, crix, mealies or beetles) and pinkies are a good treat. And on top of that offer it thawed snails fairly often and it will love you
I've never had a "fussy" bluey so I don't think you'll have to much trouble experimenting with its diet

i wouldnt bother with a diet of insects for a bluey,i use mostly pal or chum dog food, the 5 kinds a meat variety,u would need millions of meal works to satisfy a blueys diet, and insects alone arent the greatest diet, blueys arent generally fussy, theres lots of veg u can feed them, fruit as well, ive used dog food mostly though and for over 15 years with some of them now and there breeding and healthy as

he doesnt mind his grapes and as i said he gets like 20 mealies every saturday. i just cant afford to feed him 20 crickets or woodies or meealies everyday....

im looking for a cheap way to please my bluey and me.

Just go to nearly any pet shop and ask for "live garden snails". They'll love em, and eat shells and all.
