I think she might be coming around to at least understanding the sickness that it is "Herps".

I mentioned that one day it could put our daughter through Uni and she seemed to change her tune. Women they are all the same, mention spending money and they go wobbly at the knees. Mention how you can save them some money and you go wobbly at the knees

Aussiesnakelover it actually not a jungle it's a real close up of one of my male diamond pythons that a friend with a flash camera did a close up of his head and it turned out really good. There have been pics of them in other diamond threads. I'll have to go surfing back a few pages but there full with awesome shots of all types of herps that people have, there are some really nice diamond getting around. And i hear you ask diamonds in the NT. They must be kept in Aircon, it's a must.....

Yes my wife was the same until i had a clutch and it payed for a flash pram, baby seat and video camera. I'm quite happy to split and profits with her as i'm only care really about covering cost and possibly getting different species if i please.
Now she has a healthy respect for my herps though she won't handle any of them which is fine, more for me

Nice one! I've never had time to get the camera, they usually let go straight away.

No Possum. She does'nt have anything to do with reptiles, so I doubt she will surf this site.

I know this was a semi-dead thread, but I wanted to ask Yommy if the water thing works with snakes? I read somewhere to drip water in their mouths if they tag you to get them to let go...does it work, or is it an urban myth?

I'd be really carefull about letting the water actually getting into their mouth especially if they are still attached as they could swallow and get complications. I have found through numerous bites from this girl that by having water poured directly into the head and being careful not to get any in the mouth works well and she let go straight away but there can still be the problem of unwrapping her when she's angry.

I have also heard of people using metal keys near the nose (not actually using the keys to remove by force) there is some property in the metal they don't like though i've never tried it.

The steps I live by is wait 10-15min once they work out your not a rat and taste different they usually let go. If they haven't by then the h2o treatment which works 99% of the time and lastly carefully and forcefully peeling them off. That is a last resort after 30 minutes of frustrations

Hope that help and remember take photo's as monentos, friends love it
