The person who bred mine has a pair of adults in a 4 x 2 x 2 enclosure.
At this stage, I still haven't decided what I'm going to put mine in as adults. I'm tossing up between an outdoor enclosure and an indoor one.
As things stand, my two can't be housed together due to dominance issues, so that's another factor I'll have to consider, in addition to what sex they turn out to be.
If it turns out they're a pair and they sort out their dominance issues, I'm probably going to house mine in a 6 x 3 x 2 indoor enclosure (simply because I have something of those rough measurements already, which I'd just need to modify), or perhaps look at setting up something for them outdoors as adults. |

| | | That's interesting you say that asp. I have auto misting and waterfall and I presumed that they drank when they bath in the waterfall. They only hang in the mister if they happen to be on that tree at the time the misters come on!
Just an observation, I had one that wasn't as good a feeder than the other, she turned out female and the more aggressive feeder of the two a male.
I'm interested to study them more to see if I can identify different behaviour patterns between the sexes in captivity...
There my favourite herp!!!
Cheers
Scott. |

I reckon you may have 2 males...
How old are they now? Quote:

It would be very interesting to learn if the sexes differ in behaviour at such a young age! I'll have to let you know what sex mine turn out to be. At this stage the bigger one gets referred to often as "he" and the little one as "she" though we have no idea what sex they are, of course.
If you've got a waterfall setup, I'd suggest they probably drink from that since the water will be running down it. I gave mine standing water and the only thing they did was crap in it, they just didn't seem recognise it as something to ingest. On the other hand, whenever I spray through the vents and they see the water running down, they'll jump over and have a drink, if they're thirsty. |

How old are they now? | They are. Well, were I should say. I've kept them separated for most of the time I've had them. I've tried a couple of times to reintroduce them, but one of them seems to pick on the other one (dewlap comes out, starts jerking its head violently and chases the other one away. I also saw 'him' lick the smaller one and open 'his' mouth to have a chomp, but I intercepted and immediately separated them).
It's possible they're two males and I suspect this, but there doesn't seem to be any way to know for sure at this age. They're only about 7 months old now. I wouldn't have expected sex-related issues at such a young age though.
Interesting to note is that they were housed together by the person who bred them (along with several other juvies) and none of this behaviour was noted by the breeder. And when I first got them they were only abotu 2-3 months old. |

| | | | Yeah, I remember, it seems longer than that. I always referred to mine as Male and female, same as you, just looking at their physical size and thankfully they turned out that way!
I sought of related my experience with Angle Heads to Boyds as far as how they look, although with spinipes they are easy to tell. |
