breeders choice for mice

just wondering if anyone has used this with their mice and if it is suitable? i'm after something which helps eliminate the odour as much as possible.

Done it once and once only

it goes soggy with urin very quickly and smells more than shavings. It was gross.

if you have a large setup use shavings and run a smell extraction filter like they use for hydroponics if its viable

When I had them as pets a few years ago, I used breeders choice or another pellet style one, forget what they where called but they were dark green, made of alfalfa or something? From what I can remember they were good, but a bit more expensive I think. What wood shavings do people use? Arent mice and rats allergic to pine shavings? (or scented shavings). I used to use that for a month or two until I found that out (because they were sneezing and wheezing, and had weepy irritated eyes). I switched to breeders choice which fixed the problem.
