Breeding Black Heads... Brilliant!

Anybody have any idea of what a good price is to pay for a breeding pair of black heads.. I've seen a pair for $5300 on http://www.craigscritters.com.au it's brilliant.. they've got heaps, I just wanna goand buy the bloody lot. Would appreciate any advice. Apparently they'll send photos of this years hatchies and all that... let me know or check em out and get back to me.

Cheers

Avg price for a good pair of juvies is $1200 each and adults $1500 each. $5300 - way too expensive. They must have gold teeth. lol

RE: Breeding Black Heads... Brilliant!

therat, if you get 11 eggs x $900 every year, why would someone even consider selling them. Sounds strange to me.

BHP's are sometimes very hard to breed, and just as hard to hatch the eggs. Are they confirmed breeders, or are they just a pair. Probably the later, as not many people in their right mind would sell a pair of animals that made $10,000 a year for them.

It is usually necessary to get males to combat before they will mate. Sometimes a shed from another snake may be enough to get things started but not always.
3 grand is the most I would pay for an adult pair. Those pet shops love their markups.
