hey water, i ain't trying to persuade you but in my own and other ppls first
hand experiences have found that speckled feeder roaches are alot easier to
keep and reproduce than crickets.. a good idea before you started to setup a
colony would be to buy a small container from a local petshop where you buy
your crickets just to see if your herps like them..
The below link is a caresheet on how to keep and breed SPR's;

Good point mate. A few weeks ago I started a little experimant where I put one tub of crix on a heat mat and the other beside it not on one. Both were otherwise identical. Now 4 weeks later the tub on the heat mat has hundreds of pin heads and the other just dead adults.

Pinheads are tiny baby crickets, sounds like the heat mat experiment worked.

I made a cricket palace today. Fingers crossed it's all in working order, do you think if I play some Glen Miller in the background they'll be encouraged to breed?
