Breeding Long necked turtles

I just got an adult pair of long necked turtles today and was wondering what it takes to breed them.
The lady i got them off said if i put sand on the bottom of their tank they would breed, but i thought the sand had to be on the land part of the tank.
I have a 4ft by 2ft by 3 ft tank with a siliconed ramp and land area around the top of the tank.
What yould i need to do to get them breeding?
Would they take care of the eggs and hatch them?
Do i need a seperate tank for the babies?

If anyone could let me know how to breed these guys i would be very grateful.

thankyou

if you want to breed setup a pond for them, the tank you have is not big enough for 2 adult long necks let alone to breed, 4ft are good for juvies, 6ft for adults.
