Breeding rats 4 food

hey guys im due to get a new adult python to add to the collection of pythons and i thought its about time i started breeding my own so my wife can stop seeing dead rats when shes getting the ice cream out haha.
anyway i was wondering about different methods of humanly killing/stunning them to feed out?... rather than wacking the heads against a bench.... and also pinkies?

i also thought it would be better for my herps health(knowing that the rats are fed a good variety of healthy food and are fresh)

fro the pinkies...use a tray with ice on it then gas them....the ice makes them breath otherwise they can hold their breath for what seems like eternity.

For the pinkies you can just put them in the freezer cos they cant stand the cold...for adults there is one method of rolling a round long object (eg. dowel) from the shoulder blades to the back of the head,,,,you need alot of pressure...all this does is breaks the rats neck and kills it instantly....just make sure you do it right...then the other method is C02

That is the one downer with growing your own food for ur herps...the killing. It is the one thing stopping me from going and getting a couple of breeder rats. My last attempt at killing rodents was when I caught 6 mice that were getting into my bird seed. The only humane(ish) way I could think of to put them down, that I had at my disposal, was to gas them with the car exhaust. Worked after a while but I was a bit pink in the face by the end(of them)........
