ie normal dial set at 30 and night dial set at 5, then it drops the standard dial to 25.
Other than that, yeah i have found the majority of thermostats are never accurate to what the dials say. So it is always best to set your thermostat off your thermometer. This is the best and most accurate way.
hope that helps

With the night temp, if you swivel it right around you will soon find which temp it is really pointing at.

In my incubator I have multiple thermometers and a data logger to keep track of and fine tune the thermostat.

You can calibrate the thermometer by placing it in a slurry (ice and water) place the slurry in the fridge -not freezer. In a short while the slurry should be a constant 0-degrees. Place the probe of the thermometer in the container, leave for about half an hour. The temp should read 0- degrees. If the temp is up or down which should only be a fraction or so mark variation on your thermometer. of course the accuracy of your thermometer is more important when incubating, but hopefully this will give you a good indication of whether your thermometer is working. | |
