Calming Pythons!

Hey people i was wondering if you guys could help i have a 4 month old baby diamond boy and when i handle him he is alright its when i touch him (e.g stroke or pat him) he seems to want to bolt. Its like he doesnt like being handled. Is it just and age thing or is it me something im doing wrong with handling. Is there any tips on how to calm or tame my baby boy?

Thanks for the help
Simon

touch him less, they are very sensitive to touch, just let him hold on to you rather then you hold him, other then that you could always hummmm a lullaby

Keep handling him fairly regularly. He'll get use to it and calm down as he gets older.

Yeh when they are little they just think everything is trying to eat them, they really dont like being stroked.Just handle him like your hand is a tree for a while he will get used to you but it takes a while.

Cheers MatE.

i find all snakes generally dont enjoy being handled, tho most get used to it and in time they dont seem to mind so much...quiet, slow and calm handling is always best, also i wudnt suggest handling for long periods of time while the snake is still so young.

takes time,
my darwin girl sometimes will jump if you touch her, sometimes she will let you tickle her ontop of the head, or under the chin...
