Frogs swallowing gravel can cause impactation, you will need to cover it with larger rocks/pebbles so that they wont accidentally eat it when catching insects.

find the right section in the forum and wait.. give it a couple of minutes. Most people use the 'view new posts' function so see all the new posts in all the sections.

Not all frog owners are responsible or they have been misinformed, you have been informed now you have to be responsible and do the right thing by your frogs.

just because you have gravel in your tank doenst mean they're gonna eat it.
Now i know that frogs can be pretty messy eaters, but i work at a pet shop and we have at any given time around 30 frogs...all on aquarium gravel.
and none of these have ever had problems with the gravel. just make the garvel large enough so that they actually realise that they might have a rock in their mouth and they'll spit it out.
also frogs are found in the wild on exactly the same ground cover...its just the build up of to small gravel in the system...just go large
the only other aspect of not havin gravel is for hygenic reasons, but that a whole different kettle of fish

tank with gravel

Here is a picture of mine, i have large gravel not the gravel chips and mine have been fine. They have been in there since 3 weeks old to now and they are two yrs old. If you are worried most people cover there gravel with peat moss.
hope this helps

I plan to put soil then bark chips in my tank, is this a good idea?
Would I need any drainage holes in the tank?
