can you breed rescued animals

hi my mate just wanted to no if you can breed rescued animals ?thanks

If you mean legally acquired animals, the answer is you can't sell the animal but you can breed from it.

But you can sell the offspring!..........be careful.... its better to inform dse & get all info from them.. i think it also depends on species

unless you are refering to reptiles you personally rescued, then it would be different...

Check with the local authorities as each state have different legislation to cover this.
Here in NSW we must release them unless deemed not releasable by the vet. Then we must hand it in to a herp society to sell or hand out.
If he has been given this animal to care for as it can not be released then I would say yes you can breed with the animal, but once again check with the local authorities.

In sa you can breed them and sell the offspring (if you have a keep and sell permit or higher)

You cannot make money seling rescues, but you may sell the offspring of legal rescues and make money.

To be classified as a legal rescue you must have the paperwork from the fauna permit unit.
as only the offspring of legal rescues may be sold.

You must have a "basic keep & sell" to get a "rescue & keep to breed" in S.A

Arn't they being rehabilitated for release?
Why would you want to delay the process by causing undue stress on them?
