eg; 3 1/2 yrs ago i rescued a baby p.c.lorrikeet... (hard enough to breed let alone rescue)
had minimal feathers... of co**** i informed d.e.h, had to hand feed for 2 months..(1st 2 weeks feeding was every hr during daylight)...
because of this it bonded to me & loves the security of its cage...i increased cage sizes as it got older
but now other than its daily flight in my hallway ,it wont leave the cage!... it wouldnt survive in the wild
this species that are born in captivity (permit required) 35 were successfully hatched in s.a in 2003 ..under 10 survived
In all ...we are about the survival of the animal... if it wasnt rescued mother nature would claim it! | |
