Centrals and Painteds setups

Hi all

Im interested in getting into small dragons and was wondering if anyone would be able to post pics of Central netted or Painted dragons enclosures. Or any tips on care. They would be kept in a 4x2x2 setup.

Any help would be great
Thanks
Adam

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

4x2x2 would hold mayby 4-5 central netteds... leaning more to 4...ish .. painted, no idea sorry guesing two mayby three...

good luck, search google (australia) better yet, this is a lil info.. http://www.craigscritters.com.au/cen...re%20sheet.pdf its some pretty easy explanitory info, but search deeper than this.. i hate people who dont research stuff before they buy it especially reptile or animals of any sort, and i dont really want to hate you..

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

Thanks for the reply

I was asking on here because ive been searching the net and finding very little info. I wouldnt be keeping 4 or 5 in an enclosure. I hate people who keep animals in small setups. I thought a 4x2x2 would give a pair a bit of room to move. I made a website to help people research longnecks before buying and my own are moving into there 36m2 setup after winter yay

anyway thanks again for the link

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

every page ive visted on the net about central netted says a 3 by 1.5 would comfotably hold three central netteds... that kinda gives me the hint that a 4x2 would hold at least 4 if not 5!!!!!!!!!!!

and if youve been searchign the net abou tthese netteds you'd know that those few sites are made by the few people that own them, there not as widely kept and known as a bearded dragon, dont expect millions of pages about them.,...

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

3 comfortably living in 3 x 1.5 so that means with NSW having an area of 801,600Km2 (or 8,905,776,000,000 square feet) should "comfortably house" 5,937,184,000,000 individuals.... The more room the better I recon

Hence I said a pair, a pair being non solitary.......

I dont expect millions of them, hence im asking here
I also didnt expect the attitude......

Thanks anyway

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

In an enclosure that size You could divide it into 1/2 and have a trio in both. Netteds grow larger than Painteds. Keep basking spot at 33-35 degrees with 10% uv.

I use sand as a substrate which I clean monthly by rinsing in a stocking then putting the sand on a baking tray, and put in oven for approx 20 mins @ 80 - 100 degrees. Majority of nasties can not stand temps above 60 degrees.

Hope this helps you a little

Great looking little dudes Glimmerman thanks

Kirby : I never said they live in NSW (Although they obviously do in captivity....) I was stating the available land mass for enclosures in a single tier system for NSW licensed animals..... dah

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

just because three central netteds can comfortably live in a 3x1.5 enclosure doesnt mean that there are three netted for every 3x1.5 area of land..

i think youve taken this too far..

why you getting pissed of at me because my advice would have given them more room then glimmerman ...

RE: Centrals and Painteds setups

I said it would "Comfortably house" that many, not thats how many exist

You dont seem to be able to accept that I would like to give them 4x2 feet of space, as though they will be lost in 8 square feet of land and die.
Im not getting annoyed at you for anything, you just reallllly started on the wrong foot.

The whole "Youd know that if you were researching" is just BS. I have started researching, did a search in Yahoo and google for the common and latin names and found very little first up. So I thought I would come here and ask, hence curently in the researching stage, not the "OMG I just got 18 netted dragons and need to know how to keep them in my click clacks!@#!@#" stage....
