Ceramic Heat Emitters?? In my 900 x 600 x 600 I am currently running a 150 w on a thermostat. If you wanted a hot spot with out a thermostat then I would suggest a 150w. If using a thermostat get a 250w ceramic. Herpshop & URS sell them.

For a 4x2x2 (1200x600x600) i use a 150watter and that works very well. For the smaller enclosure you have i would use the 100watter. Always use a thermostat with ceramics i reckon, heaps safer that way. |

In the 900x600x450 enclosure, I have a 100w ceramic + a 40w i/r heat globe.
We are in Vic and at present the daytime temp is around 12 to 15 degrees, with night time temps getting as low as -3, but usually around 4 degrees.
The reason I have the globes, is so the missus can see the snakes of a night time, she is petrified that they are going to get out otherwise I would have a higher wattage ceramic.

For a 600 x 600 x 600, I think 60 watts might even be OK, unless you've got a desert species. I've got a 900 x 300 x 450 with a 100w and only half the top covered, and that keeps temps under the ceramic at about 30 degrees.
If your gonna use ceramics, make sure the holder is not plastic as the ceramics - especially the 150 and 250Watt ones - will quickly melt the fitting.
