btw, my new enclosue is a dresser with two sections, one is for my coastal and the other will be for a couple of baby gippy water dragons when the tax man comes. I've heard that Coastals don't need UV, but that it is still good for them as well and makes them more active...
Thoughts? Comments?

There is no evidence that I know of that shows Coastals benefit in any way from having UV. They are primarily active at night. If it makes YOU feel better providing them with UV then that's fine.

Depends on the brand, 4 to 6 months is the best you should expect, they look exactly the same but aren't providing any worthwhile UV. What makes you say they are still good ? They can continue to work as a flouro tube for many years.

Oh right, the ceramics can last for years of constant use. The Pearlco flat ceramic emitter like the one I am selling can last 10 years.
