Hey all,
Just went to bunnings today to have a look at some dowel prices and all i can say is WOW. It was like $48 for a 6 foot piece and i need about 40 foot of it.
My question does anyone know anyone or anywhere that has dowel a fair bit cheaper than this.
Thanks in advance.

I wanted bamboo from bunnings and the individual pieces were $16 each so I bought those outdoor burner things for $4 and chopped the burners off - go figure 4 times as much for plain bamboo steaks and cheap as chips if you get one with a kero burner in it |

Try a shovel handle, you can get them in 6 foot maybe not at bunnings though. You could also use sledge hammer handles if you want something a bit shorter.

The pink ones are often treated, be careful.

Use broom handles I have before for certain things (not snakes) i am sure they're untreated.
