dude, use the search function as this topic has been covered many times.
Price can vary, and 280 does seem a bit steep so check out the for sale thread.

I paid $150 for my hatchling in December 2005. The seller was criticized for being too generous with the price here on APS.
They grow to around 1.2m (so the breeder told me).

The only stupid question is the question that is not asked. Yes, you CAN stop at ONE snake. |

Hi we sell ours for $250 and have never been questioned about the price (they have always had at least 4 feeds and come in their own small container), so I guess $270 would be Ok from a pet shop but you may be bette off going to a private dealer. My adult childreni vary from 75 cm to 1 metre in length. The average length is around the metre mark tho.
Hope this helps

i paid 280 from a breeder for my children, pet shops were asking on average 250-300 for childrens, one shop was 340, macs were a little cheaper but still fetching up around the 300 mark in some shops. I found some shops were under 200 but they looked a bit sick compared to others. I didn't mind paying the bit extra as i knew the breeder and he had a good reputation. After reading this thread i feel a bit ripped off but!!

Anyway $270 is getting a bit to expensive , Normally between $200-$250 is the going price , but may depend on where you get them .
I have brought some lately for $250 that came with their own container , and are very good animals .

I bought 2 for $150 each, but I suspect the breeder was looking to offload these snakes as they were approaching the 1 year mark and he still hadnt sold them from when they hatched. With a fresh batch of hatchlings due in the next couple of months he was keen to offload these from the previous mating season | | |
