i want to move my juvie coastal into a click clack because he is starting to grow out of his encloser i have now( its just a smaller fish tank with a lid) and i was wonder if i get a plastic one could i use a heat mat underneath? and will it melt of give of bad fumes? and any other advice would be apprciated. thanks in advance richard

I was told that it wouldn't. And then when i think about it, its not that hot, would the plastic melt out side on a day when its 35 degrees celsius?

Heat cords are better, cheaper and smaller watts, won't affect your plastic container and cheap to run.

hey, only use a heat mat on a plastic tank if you have a thermostat. i used a small heat mat on the base of a plastic aquarium, and it melted the plastic slightly and burnt out the heat mat.
