COCKROCHES

i sent away for the reptle license now i need to know about cockroches and how to breed them what food to give them all of that because i'm going to get a bearded dragon for the fishtank and a reptiviv when it is a bit bigger or maybe contact sombody about making one for it. I can get a container of about 50 cockroches and I think that they wont live for very long in it besides i have a big storage container for breeding them when I get some. Can anyone tell me how to breed them thanks!

Roaches are pretty easy to breed, just keep em warm, I find that they breed best at around 28 to 30 degrees. I feed mine cricket food or GR2 and put carrots in for moisture. Use a few stacked egg trays in a tub and put the food and carrots between these. I would strongly advise you to paint a strip of Fluon ADI around the inside top of the tub cos they are quick little buggas and when there are thousands of 'em they escape very easily if you haven't got the fluon on the tub.
Good luck with it you should go well

Not sure if you can purchase bulk it's a good idea to ask around.I find it easier to buy 1500 crickets/Cockies and house them in one of those larger plastic containers brought from a $2 shop. But it is quite simple to breed your own as noted by africancichlidau.

Get at least 500 as a starter colony, any less than this and you'll have used all your bredders as food before they breed.

I say happy because I seldom here a hiss. Hissing is what my roaches do when upset.

Also they breed like crazy. I would be happy if I got free food and all I had to do was… well, you know!

Hugs and Hissessss,
