They're a small elapid found in the dryer areas from around Ipswich and the Brisbane Valley around this way, extending west to inland Aust, they eat small skinks and I think they also eat some reptiles eggs from memoryt but don't quote me on that. That's all the info I have on them. Hope I was a little bit of a help.

| | | | re Coral Ashly i think they are a giant line bred form which eats mice and rats Mate they are something you catch under sheets of bark that should stay there.

He means dont keep them.
Ive kept 2 species of Simoselaps before, and they were a pain in the ****. Very secretive as well. Very boring captives
Personally, I think you would have more fun keeping a pet rock |

Ash they are diminutive and at least partially subteranean and ide say offhand they would be nocturnal and often found under sheets of bark in state forrests in NW NSW.Very pretty to look at and i caught a few over the years when i possibly could of supplied the??? ant or lizard eggs or skinks?? that it feeds but you would never see them as they hide.Never took bandy bandys, simoselaps or thorny devils because i think its a waste of an animal that would probably die,i know people keep thorny devils outside in almost natural conditions but i am interested in captive maintenance inside.Like if someone tells me how to keep a bandy bandy or simoselaps going inside without giving it skinks or blind snakes and eggs etc (which is mostly illegal)i will be happy to hear. |

Hi Mate,
I force fed them with a catherder. Just mixed high grade canned cat food (no fish) with a little water. Mine thrived on it.
Cheers

Hi Mate,
The best way to feed rocks is pretty easy..
U put the rocks underneath the grill plate on the BBQ. Then, catch your neighbours cat, and grill it on each soide for 30mins, periodically adding oil. The juices will drip down to the rocks... They need this about twice a week, so if yuour neighbour breeds cats, your set
