i'm just wondering if theres any legal type stuff you have to do before creating a herp society? we used to have a reptile and amphibian group in my area but they no longer seem to be running... over the past year i've discovered there are a few reptile keepers in my area and i think it would be good if we could get together and talk reptiles..
any help would be appricated
Cheers

You can probably borrow one of their constitutions and all that.

same deal as a high school party imo... and as in costs depends on how elaborite you want it, start of in your lounge room with tea and scones then work up to hiring a hall and have it fully caterd..... |

You cannot take your animals to meeting legally. You cannot put together a list of members willing to take on long term captives herps from your local wildlife group. You cannot fundraise.
It costs about $20 all up from memory. Another $20 or so if you want to make a website.

I have contacted Macarthur several times (I used to be a member there - it is a great club) but havent had any feed back at all. Hawkesbury did send me some information but it didnt cover the legal aspects of it.
While I am here is there anyone in the Grafton (northern NSW) area who would be intrested in starting up a club or at least becoming a member, please pm me. Thanks Rosemary
