Wink curious info on stimmies

i had a quick second to myself yesterday so i decided to duck doewn to my local petshop for a look at sum snakes ect~

while i was there i saw a 3year old stimmie that caught my eye, altho out of my price range and no intention to buy it i asked to hold it ect and seem interested so i cold get to no the snake better.

um while i was there sum kid who worked there told me how they loook after them,

they feed em 1 mouse eery 2 weeks, during winter they feed once a month. they have a heat lamp thats on foir 6 hrs a day and a uv bulb on for 15...

he told me for snakes uv is more important than heat... im just curious as i no many snake cages that dnt have any uv at all. yet he said for stimmies u MUST have uv and heat isnt all that important...

just curous if this is tru or not?

cheers~
ops :

no heat at night?

stimmies should be fed once a week or 2weeks not a month imo

and if not cooled for breding should have heat 24/7

uv should be on 10-12hrs a day

and no heat is more important the only snake that really requires uv is a diamond python

Everyone I've spoke to, and everywhere I've read has suggested stimsons don't need UV. That kid has obviously been mis-informed but I would have thought that heat would be more important than the UV.

the feeding part is fine, but the rest is absolute rubbish. They DONOT require uv but they DO require acsess to heat. souds like they are playing russan rullette with the little bloke, especially this time of year.
Tell em to pull their head in and look after it propperly, give the little bloke some heat 24/7 unless the room hes in gets to around 30 or more.
