did they have an appropriate place to lay, all conditions ok? they can reabsorb if somethings not right....
that reminds me, i seem to remember a site which has listed minimum breeding weights of different species, does anyone know where that is?

I've heard unshed hemi plugs getting in the way of successful breeding. But sounds like you should invest in another male just to be safe.

Anything over 5ft is big enough to breed regarding Diamonds.
Don't be too put off by not getting any eggs. My diamonds did exactly the same thing. Plenty of mating but neither female ended up gravid.
I now a lot of other breeders in my area that have had a lean year but I have heard of ppl elsewhere having a great year.
Diamonds are a species that don't necessarily reproduce every year in the wild.Maybe you will have some babies next season.
Fingers crossed.

Thanx heaps everybody!!!!! I did invest in a new pair 2 days ago and believe it or not the female laid 9 slugs and 2 very good looking eggs with another 2 that look sort of o.k. So now I have a chance to test a little this year and with my new male measuring just over 8 feet I think I am in for a good chance next year!! Any tips on dates to separate them and then when to reintroduce would be good. What do they like for a box and substrate to lay in?? The new one laid them in the empty cardboard box she had (even though I found out today it's the first hide she has ever had~!!!!
