I do the tub of hot water and then pat them dry... So I feed damp rather than wet or dry I guess... Has anyone else noticed that when rodents are thawed they tend to sink?

On a related topic, how does everyone store their frozen rodents? I am stockpiling the excess animals from my colonies and after gassing I snap freeze them and then vaccum seal them. (The frozen animals sold at pet-shops look terrible, and I am guessing most would be suffering freezer-burn.) Seeing as so many people advocate freezeing for 6 weeks how do you keep them "fresh"?

I feed my snakes wet mice, I just put them in a bowl and place boiling water over the top till they are defrosted and warm, then I put them on a paper towel so I don't drip water everywhere, and then feed them to the snakes, so they are mostly wet but not dripping. I don't think I could put the rodents in the microwave to defrost (its were food goes) and it is easier to just drop them in to the bowl (i don't have to touch the rodents that way)

Caustic Humor I have them in bags at the bottom of the freezer. I never have more than 10 in there at a time Just to keep them 'fresh' .
