Diamond Pythons

One of my Diamonds has developed on ugly bruise like contusion on one side and partly underneath.
It doesn't appear to be sore to touch but it is slightly concave and discoloured...no open wound or weeping/discharge is present. It does appear to have increased slightly in size over the past week.
The affected area is currently about 1cm x 2cm in area.
His health otherwise appears to be well and he's eating ok. This 'bruised' area first appeared after he sloughed about 2 weeks ago.
Any advise or assistance offered would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Lions

Just keep an eye on it, if it starts to change colour and move up along its stomach, well
take it to the vet.

Thanks for your replies......some of you seem to think it's a burn but I can assure you it's definitely NOT a burn.
That was my first thought too but the snakes can't get to the heat source to inflict such an injury.
My thought is that he somehow got jammed somewhere while trying to slough, panicked and injured himself. I don't know if it's possible for a snake to do that but it's the only explaination I can find UNLESS it's some type of disease???
A visit to the vet is scheduled this week :-{

I'm thinking scale rot too. Let us know what the vet says.
