I dont think I did, as the guy was very nice and as helpful as you could ask for, but if he was trying to rip me off he wouldnt exactly come out and say that
Anyway, I bought this jungle (pics bellow) and was told that it should colour up nicely at around 12 months old.. but a lot of other posts I have seen of junlges the same age as this one (9 months) have shown some great yellows..
So im asking you guys please check the pics and let me know if im just being paranoid !
Cheers ! |

Some take longer colour up than others. In my experience the ones that start to colour up very early seem to have the most vibrant yellows but that does not mean that late developers do not end up being spectacular looking serpents.
See how it looks after the next slough. If it looks significantly brighter you will know it has more colour to develop.
Slough time is always interesting for young Jungles and Diamonds.

Even the parents some times arnt that good of an indication unless they have been inbreed for 2-3 generations as they are so variable. |

| | | | Some of the pics getting around have the contrast pumped up to give better color i'm sure. Some of the pics i've seen have been tampered with so much that the noise in the picture has its own contrast. |

Unless the line has been inbreed for 2-3 generations jungles are a lucky dip, simple as that. |

If you like the little fella and are happy about the asking price you actually paid....Then I don't think you got ripped.
Like the rock said its a bit of a lucky dip. I have one 8 month female that is actually get whiter not yellower. And to be honest I think it is the better of my jungles due to the different colouration. I'll post a pic if I can get my crappy 2.0 mp camera to work.

I think he looks great, and I'm guessing he will colour up nicely. Mine has changed a lot since I first got him. He just shed last week and he is heaps brighter again.
You can't go wrong with a jungle mate!!!

I prefer both parents to be of same type(atherton-atherton, etc.)
nice Athertons go for $250.00.
I would not pay much more than that for it. | | | |
