They have a big yard, and my office has a lovely sunny deck where the dog snoozes while I work (and check out APS - ssshhhhh!)
This morning I heard some scratching outside the door and then the dog went beserk, and I realised she had cornered one of the Eastern Water Dragons that live in the backyard and was trying to kill it (unfortunately she killed a baby EWD that was sunbaking by the pool last year...)
After much shouting and dragging, I pulled the dog away and locked her in the office and went to check on the dragon. Instead of running off to hide in the many bushes and rocks around the place, the cocky little bugger was sitting calmly on the steps, just watching me! I got close enough to check that he hadn't actually been bitten then left him in peace.
Well, that' my good deed for the day!

Unlocking the gate to go up their driveway, spotted their rotty picking something off the ground and like, flicking it across the yard..... Unsure what it was I bolted over, yelling at the dog "Get away"...... Found it to be a Beardie..... Looked unharmed..... So gently picked him up and placed him in some nearby bushes......
Feels good to save a helpless animal from the jaws of a killer hey...... :-) | | |
