Hey guys,
Trying to make sure I'm well prepared for possible breeding this year and have a question regarding the microclimate DL2 Pulse thermostat.
According to the specs of the DL2:
"Flashes on and off with a 5 second period, the proportion that the light is lit within the 5 second cycle represents the amount of power being applied to the heater. E.g. If the light is lit for 2.5 seconds and off for 2.5 seconds then half power is being applied to the heater. "
Now, my questions is this - I know with the dimming thermostats, if the desired temp is reached, the heat light goes out and it doesn't give off any heat. If I'm using a DL2, and the temps get to the desired temp, and the incubator is well insulated and stable, if, in the 5 second period, there is no need to pulse any heat, does it shut off completely, or does it still pulse a fraction of a second or whatever? What I'm trying to figure out, is if I'm using say a 6m 50w heatcord, is there a chance that my temps will get too hot simply because the DL2 doesn't turn off completely but still pulses a fraction of heat in the 5sec period?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
