The Emperor Scorpion ( Pandinus imperator) is big (up to 20 cms), jet black, and impressive as all hell.  They are fat and have enormous pedipalps (claws). Put one of these on your hand and it will impress anyone!

I'm all for captive-bred, but it is so cruel putting these scorps in a pet store, same way people would feel if this was being done to repties.
