I also think people just wash their hands rather than use the gel.
HOWEVER, considering you'd probably pay that just for a water dish, the vitamins and the book from a pet shop (keep in mind its a thin, basic book), I guess you could consider the rest is chucked in for free. Keep in mind postage cost on top too.
