Not breeding diamonds yet. That enclosure had a pair of intergrades and I want to breed diamonds. So I sold the intergrades and got some diamond hatchies . The aviary is currently empty.

The bluey enclosure also had a beardie in it. come this summer I am hoping that the blueys will breed and I will then sell the 3 parents and all the babies as a job lot. The aviary will then be used for my young lacies.

also check out the underground hide that I put in the diamond aviary. I also have a log under the soil in the bluey aviary. This allows them to escape high summer temps. We had 45 degrees on New Years Day. Winter temps get to as low as minus 4 degrees.

The problem with your underground hide pete is that it was intended as a drain and will fill with water, concrete floors are good for birds, snakes and lizards like to go underground in heat.

RE: re Does

Hey Col, I specifically built the hide for exactly the purpose of letting the snakes hide in there on a hot day. I tis not a converted drain. Yes, it does fill up with water and that is proving a problem. I think I will simply concrete it. It fills up for a day and then dries out. Alternatively, I can take out the box and just leave it as earth. The lid is just 2" styrofoam with a hole cut in it and a sheet of fibro glued to the top for strength.

RE: re Does

The water doesn't get in the box. It actually rises up from underneath and then disappears a day after the rain ends. the box just floats and pushes the cover up and out.

RE: re Does

Yeah mate it is dirt but it is sort of like the water table rising. it is ground water that gets in their not rain water.
