Gee, I thought prices up here were expensive. In Bendigo (maybe a little far for you to travel, spotted) Macs are about $220 in pet shops, Diamond hatchlings are about $500.
Private breeders here and in melbourne have been selling diamond hatchlings for around $350 and macs for around $180 or so. I prefer buying from a trusted breeder, you can see how the animals have been cared for and you can usually see the parents too.
Remember, there can be quite a price difference between BHPs from different regions.
