I was just wondering if there is a domestic alternative to F10?
Maybe something more natural?
Just thought that I would put it out there, let me know your thoughts? SandyGirl |

I personally just use that Pinerclean that kills 99% germs and bacteria or the orange one. Make sure that if you use them though that you wipe it out afterward with water as well. |

Yes orange cleaner is what I use 90% off the time and have done for quite some time. And yes according to the packaging it's safe and does the job. |

| | | | There are no "domestic" alternatives to F10 or Virkon S. These are lab grade "cold sterilizing" agents which kill bacteria, fungal spores and most importantly, viruses. If you are serious about truly cleaning your enclosures, nothing will work as well. The other things recommended here are useless against viruses, and if you keep snakes, viruses are what you need to manage more than anything else (OPMV and IBD). These 2 sterilizing agents also have low toxicity for you and your animals - you can let them dry in the cages and reintroduce your animals without having to wipe them out.
The important thing with all of these cleaning agents is contact time - they ALL require a certain amount of time to work, just spraying them on and immediately wiping them off is useless. All serious cleaners will have a recommended contact time in the instructions.

I have F10 on my site if you are interested.
Cheers
