According to 'Possum Pete' the female lays one clutch in april then another in august. He also claims to reguarly double clutch childrens as well. I've been breeding pythons for about 15 yrs and never had a python double clutch, I remeber a few years ago Dave Barker was asked the question on his web site and to his knowledge it had never been recorded anywhere in the world.
Would like like to hear from people like bigguy etc if they have ever double clutched pythons or has 'Possum Pete' uncovered the holy grail of python breeding? |

I never heard of anyone doing it, not anyone with proof anyway, i thinks it's virtually impossible for a python to do it twice in a season for many reasons.
Looking at the price of these snakes i doubt "Possum Pete" is a reliable source of info.
Steve.

I take these reports about as seriously as I take most reptile anecdotes  . It seems very unlikely that pythons can ever double clutch. Stranger things have happened and I wouldn't be 100% sure, but I'm fairly confidently guessing it will never be genuinely found to occur. I certainly know one possum I'll never buy anything from!

I thought something was up got a weird email from a guy called Chris, says
he has been breeding for 15yrs and has never read about pythons double
cluctchin.
I told him to talk to Russell grant, roy pails, daniel fitzgerald.
They have all done it, they have all done papers on it.
Just relaying an email....
