First night i had my snake she got herself in a precarious position and dropped the 40cm to the ground.
Then thru poor handling, she dropped again - I felt so horrible...
Then tonight, thru poor thought on her behalf my wee spotted jumped from the couch... well, not as much jumped as fell... With a flop... onto the tiles... I guess 45cm there too...
Does it hurt them? Are they designed to take a fall? What do I look for if the snake is injured? What are signs of distress?
And last but not least.. how do I know when my snake is hungry - i feed her weekly as suggested, but what if the fuzzies i give are too small? Will she feel hungry?
thanks! |

Still unsure about whether I am feeding her enough or not tho.. I would have thought this is a hot topic... Well, all the experience - im very interested to work out if my spotted will eat a weiner with little or no trouble... or just stick with the weekly fuzzie!
Thanks tho waruikazi... I am pleased she looks ok |

I am so careful... I swear... Don't report me to child welfare please... hehe... JK... She really is well looked after, she does tend to put herself in situations she finds difficult in getting out of. I think she might be scared of heights. |

If its a juivinle then it will just be a little more jumpy compared to adults and when you do hold it i would suggest beeing closer to the ground untill it calms donw so if it does take a flop of to no damage is done. Also he may be a bit more nervous because it hasent been handled much. I dont know much about the exact snake you ahve but i would feed a mouse a little bigger than the with of its body so it made a little buldge after it eats and then dont handle the day it was fed. Im no expert but i hope this helps . . good luck |

I think she might be scared of heights. | Well since it is a captive animal doesn't that make you atleast 90% responsible for what happens to her? If you know she tries to jump off things then why not restrict her time out of her enclosure to the floor or somewhere she can't fall off of?
I think common sence should be the question here |

Never refused a feed. IMO, I would increase the food size and see how he goes. | | | |
