Im trying to decide on my second snake, and I think im going to go with a Bredli, im in love with jungles but I dont think it is the right snake for me, and my wife doesnt want a snappy one.
So I have a few questions.
How big do they grow??
What size enclosure will I need for lets say a 3ft snake??
Are they climbers??
Will it need to be taller rather than deeper/longer??
I see most people build theres out of melamine, I have previously built things using pine. Is this ok to build a snake enclosure from?
Thanx

Are they climbers?? depends on the snake, but mainly yes.

Thanx | im not exactly sure if all thats right, so wait for a few more responses.

I think you need at least a 4x2x2 foot tank (preferably 4x2x4) for an adult brdeli. ( L x W x H )
And make sure theres a climbing branch.

Thanks guys.
Looks like its going to be a pretty big job, as im a bit of a perfectionist. And I want it to be a display snake/enclosure.
I found this great fact sheet on them too. http://www.reptilerooms.com/Sections...68-page-1.html |

The info in that care sheet is not completely accurate and is quite outdated. There should be a better one in the Wiki somewhere.

My son and I are getting Bredl's from Snake Ranch this year. We looked at all of the mid-sized pythons and talked to folks at the expo in Castle Hill before deciding on the species. I like the Diamond's (and we live in the right area), but Diamond Python Syndrome is a real worry. Bredl's are very nice looking snakes and reasonably easy to keep. The one we handled at the expo was gorgeous. If you really love jungles, there was a breeder at the expo who has a line of smaller, calmer jungle pythons. I don't remember the name because we weren't really interested in jungles. I'm sure they were more expensive than Bredl's, which may or may not be a factor for you.
Mr Bredli - I don't know what happened to the sheets on the Wiki - someone has been messing with them. They were excellent.

When my bredli were you they did like to climb but since getting to their adult size they seem to like floor space more, espescially my big fat female. An adult bredli imo needs atleast a 5x2x2 enclosure, with climbing branches but enough floor space to stretch out on. Floor space is far more important than climbing space, they are not like coastals or jungles longer is better than higher.

Currently all my adult Bredli are tubbed, but some are approaching 5 foot long, so they will be going into enclosures soon. I'll be putting them into 600 wide x 1000 high x 500 deep enclosures, with a single coloured globe attached to a dimming thermostat. Hinged front door, PVC pipe as perches and pegboard back.
