| | | | Thanks for your input everyone. I do like the idea of framed glass sliding doors. Most glaziers I have contacted have really shyed away from offering advice, hence why I asked the forum. Most glaziers are happy to supply whatever I order, but as to suggestions that is again whatever I want....lol Some have suggested toughened for both strength and safety, some suggested 5mm, others 6mm. I suspected that may be fine for a display cabinet but not for a large coastal (well he will be one day!).
Here is a pic of how things are progressing to date (approx 6ft wide by 5ft high). Second pic is of current enclosure (4ft) |

then using 6mm glass for doors will be ok.
Just get handles or finger slots ground into each door.
The only thing you need to worry about would be sliding it open and closed easily.
Aluminium tracks and wheels on your glass doors might be a go.
You would need your doors around 975mm wide for overlap.
All the best with your project.

EXglazier | Thanks kindly for the info. I looked up spec on the cowdroy website and think tracks and wheels would be the go as well.
Cheers |
