Encolsure Size help!

Well my dad is starting to build me an enclosure tomorrow,
How long until an olive python will outgrown a 900 x 4500 x 600 enclosure?
We are building two enclosures on a stand, So It will be big enough for my maccie when shes full grown also.

If anyone has a picture like this could you please post some so I can get some ideas as he needs to order the glass soonish.

Hey ash - I'm no expert but the general rule is the length of the enclosure should be at least half the length of the snake stretched out, and half again for the height - someone correct me on this, Sorry thats a bit vague isnt it? :S

I personally think the enclosure should be 2/3 the length of the snake, half the length is cruel, but that is my opinion only. Depend is they are arborial or not in regards to height. 900 long should last around 18 months to 2 years depending on how fats she grows.

Ok adam, So do you thin 900 x 450 x 600 will be big enough?
Its just my dads spending abit on materials so we want it to last for a while!

Yeah it will be great. It is pretty big for the Olive at the size she is now, but will definately last for a while.

Yer Adam I was thinking that it will be too bgi for her now also, But Im going to put a divider temporary divider in there for now.

Is the "peg board" I think its called alright to put on the back of the enclosure instead of vents?
The wood with the holes all in it? Have seen it in a few enclosures so am going to use it.

I will be using a heat matt that I already have, How do I go about that, Will I have to put a hole in the wall of the enclosure for the cord to go through?? What do you guys do?

It's a bit daggy at the moment, we have the cords out the front where the glass closes. I have to buy new plugs and cut the existing plugs off and drill a small hole in the back then put new plugs on them.

i down graded the aviary to an outdoor enclosure 1800, 950, 900. a three meter aviary for one scrub was a waste of space.

Oh ok, So a hole in the side or back of the enclosure will be fine?

Thats ok whitey, each to their own. We choose to give the snakes alot of room.

Ash, Yes a hole in the back or side is ok, just need to make sure it is no thicker than the cord, so the snake cannot use it as an escape route.
