I have a universal backing myself and was gonna use it in my 4ft melamine enclosure but i was tired and foolishly mounted the vent on the back wall >.< I may just bite the bullet and cut a rectangle out if it for the vent and mount it at any rate but belgh!

They are excellent and my herps loves interacting on it, they add an extra demension to your cage for sure.
Anyone else with these backings post some pic's on this thread as well, interested to see others idea's and setups. |

The actual 6x2ft cage with a base which has cupboards and hatchy rack enclosed.
I went the backing along the backwall, either end has 3x2x2 mini orb for effect and the inner walls have landscape pic's i took myself of "Edith falls" from the NT. It also has a false roof for electrics and is constructed with 16mm malemine??? sealed the painted in a suede effect paint and all lighting/heating is run off a microclimate thermostat. Took alot of work but the end product turned out really well i think, both the snakes and I are very happy with it

Not sure of an exact cost, didn't want to give the missus fuel to winge she wasn't happy at the amount of time spent in it's construction , though that's what the procceds of last seasons coastal went to.
The hatchie rack idea actually came from Dave at Pilbara pythons.Saw his setup and a few others, though there is a few different types out there, but the concept is the same.
If you have an idea run with it. The end result is what effort you put in. I'll give lancenator a plug, couldn't of done it without his help. Now residing at springfield. |
