I just wanted to know what equipment is needed to keep a Stimson Python? I went to the pet shop today, and the owner said that i will need a UV light, heat lamp, and a basking light, and possibly a heat mat as well, is this true. Would i need sand for the bottom of where i am keeping it too? And what are some of the things i can use to house a snake (the cheaper way preferably)?

All you need is a click clack, a heat pad/cord, a thermostat, a hide and a water bowl.

A 900 x 600 x 600 enclosure, one 75W globe, the UV is up to you if you want it same say yes some will say no but for the price I use them.
Don't use sand - breeders choice kitty litter or news paper.

So i dont need a basking light, i dont really need a UV light, and i only need either a heat mat or a 75 watt globe...is that right?

Sorry when it was first written it had a list of basic requirements, but it has been modified so many times now. All you need is a click clack, a heat pad/cord, a thermostat, a hide and a water bowl as Mr bredli said, and news paper is a good substraight.

It shouldn't get that hot, but it should be connected to a thermostat anyway to ensure it doesn't ever go above 32 degrees (the ideal temp).

Okay thanks, a few people at the pet shop told me it would melt it. But i was thinking, 30 degrees celcius isn't that hot, and i dont think that a plastic click clak would even melt on a day were the temperature was 40 degrees celcius out side.

Be very cautious of information given to you at a pet shop

Yer sounds like a dodgy petshop , best to talk to someone who keeps em , not just sells em.
