Eucalyptus perches

Hi

Do you use or know if someones uses really dry eucalyptus perches in the enclosures ?

I know that most of the around 700 species of eucalyptus trees produce toxic oils but also read that after being really dry, the toxicity disappears.

I´m asking because I cut some really nice eucalyptus perches to use in a naturalistic enclosure I´m building for my JCP. They´re being dried right own and subsequently would be bleached.

They would be the perfect perches, since are very light in color which would make a nice contrast with the JCP and the dark background of the enclosure. Furthermore, they would be the closest I could get (here in West.Europe) to the natural environment of a JCP.

But... I obviously do not want to take any un-necessary risks.

So if it is a NO NO, I´ll drop that idea.

Thanks in advance for your replies.
