Eulamprus close up picks

Hi guys,
While in Port Douglas last week, Id kick back in the garden of an arvo and whatch these little guys. It was like a skink soap opera, these little critters are nuts. Chasing each other, fighting, head bobbing for territory and just chewing up and eating decaying leaves ect.

It also gave me a chance to play with my new camera. All picks were taken from at least 3 meters with a zoom.
I know they are from the Eulamprus family, if you would like to narrow it down, IDs are welcome.
The last pick isnt quite in focus but the way its standing like a Komodo Dragon, I thought it was funny and had to add it.

It's a Carlia species, but I don't know which one. Note the four fingers in the first pic (Eulamprus have 5 fingers). Maybe C. longipes or C. rostralis.

Nice pick up Stewart, after re-checking my reference books, Id say rostralis.
Many thanks for that.

Sorry Scott, rubrigularis are to small. the skinks in my picks are up around 8 to 9 cms in length.
Rubrigularis get to a max of 6cms.

That is snout vent, also too there are number of larger pops of certain species...the lizards from those pics appear to have a fused frontoparietal scale, which is only present in a couple of species (that are currently described) and the nearest to that animal is Carlia rubrigularis.

In addition, the average svl of longipes (most likely other contender) is 65mm, rostralis is 70, which puts them all below your estimate of length.

Cheers,
Scott
