Falling Snakes

My SWC seems to be rather clumsy when it comes to moving about on the branches he has in his enclosure. Every now and then I hear a thud and it is him having fallen off a branch and landed on the bottom of the enclosure looking around as if to say how did that happen ?

Anyone else catch thier snake falling off things ?

And here I was thinking it was pure. Unless of course you are talking XXXX. I'm sure that's made from Beattie's current water supply.

My female jungle lost the end of her tail when she was a hatchling and has a bit of difficulty hanging on sometimes.

Unknown.

The young fellow I got it off said it was missing when he got it from Ken Griffiths.

This is a serious problem, once would maybe be ok; even then i'd worry; but repeated events means that the snake has a problem. Think what would happen to a snake like this in the wild. It sounds like its in poor condition. I would suggest a check up at a herp savvy vet.

A snake fall can damage internal organs and/or break bones. Especially if its not a clean fall onto the ground but interupted by hitting a branch or two.
When I first started herpetologinggging my snakes would occasionally fall...some regularly. What I was doing wrong was choosing the wrong branches. Ive subsequently gone for thicker branches and if going high with more off shoot branches to provide adequate grip.
Since doing this none of my snakes have fallen(whilst Im around anyways).

I think you are jumping to conclusions, if it is just siting on a branch and falls off for no apparent reason that could be the sign of a problem if it falls because it is reaching towards something or over balances for some other reason it is normal.
NEVER take a herp to a vet unless you think there is actually something wrong with it.

One of my Sth Wests is exactly the same - simple solution was to build that one an enclosure that wasn't as high.
