As some of you know I am looking into breeding this year but due to my boy snake having a bit of the jitters it may take a while to get them together. I had ceased feeding my female and was just wondering if i should start feeding her again as the introduction of my male and female may take a while or since she's being cooled should i continue to cease her feeding? This is my first year breeding so I just want to make sure i'm on the right track and not unintentionally hurting my snakes...
Thanks |

there are some really successful breeders that feed right through .
You are very early into the cooling process and have the next 3 months at least
to possiably get a mating that may be successful.
What temp ranges are you keeping the pythons at ? |

We havent feed our spotteds for the last 8 weeks and wont be starting again
until the early spring [same goes for all our Anteresia], we do this every year
with no probs at all. You have made the temp drop a little to sudden as you should take
a few degrees of every month until you have reached the lower end of the range needed |

I know a lot of people up north don't feel there is a need but i wouldn't take the risk. The majority of pythons have a preferred body temperature of around 30 degrees, and if they're only getting ambient temps it could cause some health issues to arise.
Your male should have a change of attitude when the cooler nights kick in. Just be patient and do what you can to get the night time temps down a bit - leaving the window open during the night should help.
